HEADLINES: When Your 12-Valve Needs A GT55 And A/C…

Compound Turbo P-pump 12-Valve Cummins

You call John Schirado at Black Tie Race Fab to make it work—and look damn good while doing it. On top of Schirado’s handywork in making this sizable compound turbo arrangement fit in its second-gen host, the finished look of his fabrication efforts is positively masterful. The setup consists of a 106mm GT55 serving as the atmosphere unit with an S467 parked on a Steed Speed manifold. The P-pumped 12-valve underneath all the stainless piping represents one of Power Driven Diesel’s 6.2L stroker motors, and the truck itself is owned by Power Driven’s Will Terry. Watch out when this thing hits the street.

Super Stocks Invade Tomah

2008 Ford Super Duty Super Stock Diesel Truck

It’s officially summer. And that means a busy truck and tractor pulling season is now underway. Up in Tomah, Wisconsin, the Budweiser Dairyland Super National Truck and Tractor Pull played host to the Super Stock diesel trucks over the weekend. And, as the event has proven many times over in its storied, half-century-long past, Tomah is the place to be in late June. On Friday night, Nick Gillett’s “Top Shelf” Ford (pictured) edged out Todd Dugan in the “Angry Farmer” Super Duty. The following afternoon, Gillett would end up third, behind Second Place Todd Dugan (this time in the “Angry Shine” truck) and front-runner, Keith Witt—who claimed his first victory aboard the brand-new “American Pride” Ram.

Crippler 2.0: Coming Soon To Limited Pro Stock

Limited Pro Stock Dodge Cummins Truck Pulling

Josh Land’s presence might be missing in action from the truck pull circuit at the present time, but the Bluegrass Diesel owner has a whole new animal in the works—and it should be ready to sling dirt soon. Known for the hard-running second-gen coined “Crippler,” Land is calling this version “Crippler 2.0.” The open driveline creation sports a front axle that’s been battle-prepped by Branik Motorsports, including a new GM 14-bolt casting, 4-inch axle tubes, a spool, upgraded inner shafts, and billet U-joints. The beefed up 14-bolt is also fitted with Dana 60 knuckles.

3.0 Smooth Bore Class In Full-Swing

Hill Brothers Second Gen Cummins Diesel Truck Pull

Speaking of the Limited Pro Stock class, the newly-created Epic Pulling Series hosted its fourth hook of the year on Friday night (June 23). At the Salem, Indiana event, Adam Kincaid took top honors in the “Hill Brothers” second-gen, putting just over a foot on Second Place finisher, Jordan Jackson (“Billet Steel & Sex Appeal”). In hot pursuit of the front-runners were Tim Tuttle in the “Common Cents” Dodge, Adam White in the “Gambler,” and Shawn Oesterritter behind the wheel of the “Moo Money” Ram. If you’re interested in watching one of the tightest competitions around, the Limited Pro Stock class provides it. These single turbo, 3.0-inch smooth bore machines turn out 1,400 hp or more and very few feet separates First Place from last.

Strictly Diesel OBS Electric Fuel System 7.3L Power Stroke

The name Strictly Diesel and the term “high-quality” go hand-in-hand—especially when you’re talking about fuel systems. And as of June 2023 its fuel systems are even better than they used to be. Another key enhancement entails a redesigned mounting bracket to help make the installation process as seamless as possible. As before, Strictly Diesel’s fuel systems continue to come with an ultra-reliable, brushless Fuelab Prodigy fuel pump.
