Dodge Ram 1500 Cummins Pro Street Diesel RLC Motorsports

RLC Motorsports’ vibrant orange Ram 1500, a regular contender on the ODSS Pro Street circuit, is currently on the market. Known for knocking on the door of 4’s, it’s a truck that could be competitive with the fastest Pro Street trucks in the nation right out of the gate, be detuned and run 5.90 Index, or that could even go no-prep racing. On top of that, the Industrial Injection-built Cummins under the hood benefits from a wet block and head, a radiator, and an alternator (and even the power windows are still in service in the cab), potentially making it a sound candidate for drag and drive events…

The Ultimate Streetable P-pump?

Cummins Hot Street P-pump Dynomite Diesel Products

Fresh off the bench at Northeast Diesel Service, Dynomite Diesel Products’ 12.5mm hot street P7100 caused quite a stir on social media last week—and rightfully so. The company’s P-pump offers full mechanical variable injection timing advance, which not only makes for a more drivable truck but a more powerful one, too. According to Northeast Diesel’s Kevin Glover, timing advancement begins at 15mm of rack travel and stops increasing at 19.5mm, which amounts to an increase of 2 degrees of timing every 1mm over static timing (for a total advancement of 8 degrees over static timing). In a world where a 13mm P-pump is simply way too much for a street truck, DDP’s 12.5mm variable timing P7100 fills the void perfectly.

Midwest Winter Nationals

Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel Truck Pulling Iron Maiden

And you thought people just sat around indoors during the cold months… Surprisingly to some, a slew of indoor truck and tractor pull events are held each winter, and this past weekend the place to be was the MEC in Shipshewana, Indiana, the host venue for Whatssmokin Promotion’s annual Midwest Winter Nationals. Starting on Thursday and concluding Saturday night, six sessions of truck and tractor pulling commenced, with everything from Super Farm and 10,000-pound Pro Stock tractors to 4.1 Limited Pro Stock Semi’s being sent down the track. Saturday afternoon, Brian Shew qualified for the final session of pulling when his “Iron Maiden” Dodge (pictured) edged out eight other competitors in the 8,000-pound Limited Pro Stock field.

AFPM Urges EPA To Deny California’s Ban On ICE Vehicles

American Fuel and Petroleum Manufacturers

On January 10, Senior Director of Fuel and Vehicle Policy for the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM), Patrick Kelly, testified before the U.S. EPA urging the agency (and President Biden) to deny California a petition that would effectively allow the state to ban the sale of new diesel and gasoline vehicles. Kelly made it clear that “the Clean Air Act does not give California authority to ban the internal combustion engine,” but a Clean Air Act waiver is exactly what the state is attempting to use to enact its ban. According to AFPM, if the state is granted the waiver to ban the sale of ICE vehicles (as well as traditional hybrids), the policy would likely also be enforced in nearly 15 other states.
