The PowerFlo Lift Pump Line Grows To Include Power Strokes
The ultimate high-flow, in-tank lift pump solution for ’11-’16 6.7L Power Stroke owners.
Building on the success of its in-tank lift pumps for Cummins and Duramax applications, Fleece Performance Engineering has expanded its proven line of PowerFlo lift pumps to include ’11-’16 Fords equipped with the 6.7L Power Stroke. With it you get OEM-like durability, ultra-quiet operation, an easy-to-service spin-on water separator, no ¼ tank issues, and enough flow to support twice the factory horsepower rating. Better yet, Fleece has made the PowerFlo a plug-and-play system that installs in half the time it takes to bolt a competitors’ aftermarket fuel system in place. It’s yet another top-tier, comprehensive product from the problem solvers from Pittsboro, Indiana. Here’s the full scoop.
In-Tank Installation And Operation
A hit since it was first introduced for Cummins applications, Fleece Performance Engineering’s PowerFlo lift pump is now available for ’11-’16 Power Strokes. Its design and positioning inside the factory fuel tank provides the quietest operation of any aftermarket lift pump on the market, and its OEM-style fill bucket technology means there are no ¼-tank issues to worry about. Where this version differs from Cummins and Duramax designs is in pressure. Just like the factory Ford lift pump, Fleece’s PowerFlo for the 6.7L Power Stroke produces 65-70 psi at idle, which is what the factory CP4.2 high-pressure fuel pump requires.
A Comprehensive Kit
All-inclusive, Fleece’s PowerFlo lift pump and fuel system upgrade kit ships with everything you need to install it on your ’11-’16 Super Duty. The list of contents includes everything you see here: a PowerFlo lift pump with integrated fuel level sender, fuel sending unit with tank O-ring, anodized billet-aluminum filter base assembly and Donaldson fuel filter/water separator (PN P553203), water-in-fuel sensor, WIF sensor extension harness and fuel system wiring harness, zip ties, and all necessary mounting hardware. The system retails for $1,129. As for newer Super Duty owners, you’re next. Fleece plans to further expand the PowerFlo line to include ‘17+ models this summer.
Supports Stock To 800 HP
Two OEM-quality gerotor pumps are employed within the PowerFlo assembly. Together, the increased flow capacity they provide can support up to 800 hp, which means the PowerFlo pump supports moderate injector upgrades and modified (or replacement) high-pressure fuel pumps. Another huge perk is the PowerFlo pump’s use of active fill bucket technology, which eliminates the need for a tank sump, draw straw or additional air filtration. Just like an OEM application, and as we’ve already stated, there are zero ¼ tank issues associated with this product.
Plug-And-Play Installation
Beyond its functional advantages over the aftermarket competition (namely quiet operation and zero low-fuel issues), the Fleece PowerFlo lift pump installs in less than half the time other systems require. The PowerFlo system retains all of your truck’s original fuel lines and the factory water-in-fuel sensor. That’s right, there is no cutting, splicing, or modifying anything to make this pump work—plus all factory diagnostic functionality is preserved. Fleece even offers long bed (PN FPE-PF-FMC-1116-LB) and short bed (PN FPE-PF-FMC-1116-SB) versions of the PowerFlo kit for a vehicle-specific fit.
Versatile And Compatible With Common Aftermarket Parts
If your plans don’t entail keeping the factory fuel lines in place, Fleece’s PowerFlo lift pump can still accommodate your needs. The pump’s outlet and return are threaded to accept -8 O-ring fittings (3/4” – 16 thread), so you can run your own fuel lines while simultaneously benefiting from an in-tank lift pump capable of supporting 800 hp. And for 6.7L Power Stroke owners running an S&S Diesel Motorsport DCR pump conversion or CP4 disaster prevention kit, Fleece has already verified that its PowerFlo unit works seamlessly with either product.
Corrosion-Resistant Filter Base & Donaldson Filter
The supplied filter base assembly mounts in place of the factory horizontal fuel conditioning module (HFCM) on the inboard side of your Super Duty’s driver side frame rail. As you can see, the filter base accepts all OEM quick-connect fittings and includes a provision for adding a fuel heating element to eliminate gel ups in frigid temperatures. Fleece manufactures the fuel heater (and harness) that works seamlessly with this filter base. The spin-on water separator is a high-quality Donaldson filter (PN P553203) that boasts a 4-micron rating at 99-percent efficiency.
The Ultimate Setup
There are three products pictured here, and all of them illustrate Fleece Performance Engineering’s commitment to making America’s most popular diesel truck, Ford’s Super Duty, as reliable and efficient as possible. Left to right, you’ll find the PowerFlo lift pump system discussed in this article, Fleece’s new under hood fuel filter assembly, and the company’s fuel heater and harness. From tank to engine, at stock or modified power levels, and for trucks living in colder climates, Fleece has the needs of your 6.7L Power Stroke’s fuel system covered.
