HEADLINES: Here Comes Another Billet Duramax…

Truck shows, dyno days and monster trucks in Indiana, a major award for the DCR pump, and another billet-aluminum Duramax leaves the Wagler camp.

Wagler Billet Aluminum Duramax V8 Diesel Engine

Wagler has been rolling out the billet Duramax’s lately, and this one is another full-on aluminum work of art. So, will it perform as good as it looks? With S&S fueling, Stainless Diesel turbocharging and tuning from MTKB Racing, you can bet on it. The billet-aluminum Wagler V-8 is destined to power Paul Vasko’s dragster. How soon will we see it? That depends on how testing goes, which Paul says should be happening ASAP. Our hope is that testing goes well and the engine makes its official event debut at Outlaw Diesel Revenge/Ultimate Callout Challenge in Indy. Watching Paul enter the fray against the likes of Mattie Graves, Jared Jones, and Michael Cordova is going to be a treat!

PPEI-Tuned 7.3L?

PPEI Dyno Tuning 7.3L Power Stroke

What in the world is going on at PPEI? It seems that company owner, Kory Willis, has been bitten by the 7.3L bug—a 30-year-old engine platform that has seen a noticeable resurgence in interest in recent months (also see Cleetus McFarland’s 7.3L tow rig project and our own Summit 7.3 event coverage…). Long story short, Kory was able to teach himself how to tune an O.G. Power Stroke in a matter of minutes, gleaning 322 hp out of a bone stock Excursion strapped to his dyno. Then, Kory’s focus turned toward the HEUI injection system, and the effect hot engine oil has on horsepower production. Now, Hot Shot’s Secret is involved, which means things are likely going to get even more interesting. Stay tuned…

DCR Pump Earns 2024 Automotive News PACE Award

S&S Diesel Motorsport DCR Pump

You knew they were selling like hot-cakes, and you know they’re the ultimate solution for the problematic CP4.2 failure on ’11-present Ford Power Strokes, but now it’s official: Stanadyne’s 2P DCR, the foundation of the S&S Diesel Motorsport DCR Pump Conversion, has been recognized for its excellence in design. On April 29, and having undergone extensive review by an independent panel of judges, the DCR high-pressure fuel pump was given the 2024 Automotive News PACE Award. Highlights cited include the pump’s robust (and patented) eccentric drive pumping operation, its ability to provide unmatched durability against low lubricity fuels, and its modular design enabling best-in-class packaging.
