461 HP And 1,014 LB-FT At The Wheels—Stock!
Ford continues to underrate its 6.7L Power Stroke, diesels compete with PDRA, and the inside scoop on O-Line—the latest Super Stock truck on the pulling scene.

Need further confirmation that Ford’s 6.7L Power Stroke is underrated from the factory? Jelibuilt Performance’s bone-stock ’24 F-450 made 461 hp and 1,014 lb-ft on the company’s load cell DynoJet—and it’s not even an H.O. model. Rated at 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft at the crank, a standard output 6.7L parked in a dual rear wheel Super Duty should be good for 425-rwhp on its best day, but Jelibuilt’s is notably more potent than that. This is the F-450 workhorse that tows Jelibuilt’s 4-second 7.3L Power Stroke to the drag strip. Fifteen to 20 years ago, a diesel truck making this kind of power would’ve been the one you were racing at the track…

CP4.2 Failure—The (Horrible) Gift That Keeps On Giving

Another week gone by, another group of CP4.2 failures to tell you about. This one comes from a 6.7L Power Stroke customer of Hill’s Diesel in Maryville, Tennessee. Now it’s time to pull and clean the tank, inspect (and likely replace) the injectors, replace the rails, all lines, and decide what to do for a high-pressure fuel pump going forward. While it’s too late for this engine, there are measures you can take to limit the amount of damage done if your CP4.2 comes apart, such as S&S Diesel Motorsport’s Disaster Prevention Kit, or ruling out the the problematic pump completely with an S&S DCR Conversion or Snyder performance Engineering’s soon-to-be-released Cpreme CP3 Conversion.

The Fastest Lady In Diesel Spends The Weekend Racing PDRA

Mattie Graves and team Hollyrock were at Maryland International Raceway, representing diesel at the PDRA North Vs. South Shootout over the weekend. After running a 4.105 on a 4.09-second dial-in, Mattie made the 16-car field in the Elite Top Dragster category. It’s a continuation of what we saw unfold at Outlaw Diesel Revenge at the beginning of June, where the twin-turbo, nitrous-fed, Duramax-powered Spitzer chassis rail turned in consistent 4.0’s and 4.1’s (at 180-plus mph trap speeds) in route to the Top Diesel victory. Look for Mattie and crew to bring that same momentum to Bowling Green, Kentucky the weekend of July 18-19 for the ODSS Bluegrass Truck Jam event.

Inside O-Line: WP Developments’ New Truck Pull Build

By now you’ve probably heard about the joint venture between WP Developments and Indianapolis Colts Offensive Lineman, Dalton Tucker: the second-gen Cummins destined for Run What Ya Brung and Super Stock pulling action. What you might not know is that this beast was built in just five (5) weeks’ time! During the crunch, a cast-iron 12-valve head was obtained from Warren County Diesel, Scheid Diesel lent (and then built) them a set of injectors, a 16mm Hart’s Diesel P-pump was sourced, and Stainless Diesel provided a 107mm, GT55-based, ball bearing center section turbo. A deck plated, solid Hamilton block with a big, 4.33-inch bore and a 6.7L crank serves as the foundation. But this is just the beginning. Hint: triple 107mm chargers, a Fair Valley Sigma pump, and a Wagler dual core water-to-air intercooler are on the way… Get the full rundown on O-Line here.

A Wild “Zuki” With A 4BT

Suzuki Samurais have a unique and loyal following. Off-road, they’re known for their compact size and nimbleness, but also for their severe lack of power. Thanks to teaming up with Big Bear Engine Company, being underpowered will no longer be a concern for Cody Kenner and his “Zuki.” In fact, with one of Big Bear’s 140hp 4BT Cummins power plants under the hood he’ll have all the grunt he needs. The rest of this Suzuki’s story consists of a Dana 60 front axle and a GM 14-bolt out back, 17-inch Raceline Wheels beadlocks wrapped in 46-inch rubber, a full manual valvebody Turbo 400 transmission linked to an NP205 transfer case and NP203 range box, and a goal of tackling the hardest trails in the U.S.
