PRI Preview
What to expect at the PRI Show, another Seventy 2 Fast build gets underway, a P-pumped 7.3L, and a look inside a piece of 4BT-powered, custom-tailored ag equipment.
Big things are happening this week at the PRI Show in Indianapolis, and this is one of the biggest. The Wagler Competition Products billet-aluminum CX series Cummins destined to power David Petrick’s new 4×4 Pro Mod build will be on display. It’ll be parked in the rolling chassis (a masterpiece all on its own) that was hand-crafted at Firepunk Diesel. Fittingly, you’ll be able to find it in the Wagler booth (#4749 within Yellow Hall), alongside a host of other shiny, attention-grabbing engines. Following PRI, Petrick’s frame-laying 4×4 Ram will be making a trip to S&S Diesel Motorsport, where it will be wired up for the stand-alone ECU that will control it.
More From PRI

If you want to catch a 3-second diesel at the PRI Show, stop by booth #3567. There, on S&S Diesel Motorsport’s piece of ground in Yellow Hall, you’ll find Rod MacMaster’s Cummins-powered C7 Corvette positioned front and center. From 1-1:30 pm on Friday you can catch Rod in person, and possibly even find out what he and his team have in store for this wild, Radial Vs. The World ride in 2026. Also under the S&S banner (albeit parked in the Green Lobby), you’ll find Tyler Bradley’s Cummins-powered Nova—the S&S-fueled, MoTeC-equipped, and Hardway-tuned radial tire classic that used to belong to Ryan Milliken.
At The ‘Strip
Here Come The Seventy 2 Fast Builds…

It seems just about everyone is on the hunt for a piece of that $100,000 prize in June, and this build—which just commenced at WP Developments—is being undertaken by Parker Roan, the Otterbein, Indiana company’s media guy. You read that right. When a company’s marketing and media mastermind gets involved in a race program this serious, you know the parent company behind hime means business. As can be deduced in this photo, Parker’s power plant of choice will (wisely) be a Cummins, but we’ll wait until we know more to disclose the full details. What we do know is that, with a 6-month head start, you can expect him to bring a strong contender to UCC.
Unique Builds
P-pump 7.3L—Oh How We’ve Missed You

Who else loves seeing the occasional P-pumped 7.3L Power Stroke build? Hypermax Engineering and Unlimited Diesel Performance come to mind for the 2,000-plus hp examples they’ve campaigned over the years, but this version was pieced together by CNC Fabrication’s Corey Hurtt. Injection system and rpm limited in factory form, going mechanical is one viable way (other than going common-rail) to realize the full potential of Navistar’s 444 cubic inch V-8. Beyond the tremendous injection rate an “ancient” inline pump like this provides, it can support 5,500 rpm or more—something you just can’t do with a HEUI-fired 7.3L. Like most mechanical 7.3L’s, this one was built to go truck pulling. It spends its summers powering Scott Mast’s “Tantrum” Super Duty down tracks in the greater Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois area.
Custom, 4BT-Powered “Ag Buggies“

American ingenuity knows no bounds—and the one-of-a-kind “Ag Buggies” the folks at Legacy Valley Farms are building prove it. In order to get the job done easier, and namely with less damage inflicted on the fields they’re working in, they’ve designed equipment that will float whenever standing water is encountered. Each of these buggies gets pushed around by a 130hp 4BT Cummins from Big Bear Engine, with propulsion made possible by way of a hydrostatic drive system. Oh yeah, the tires say “Flammable” because they’re full of fuel… They’re repurposed military fuel cells, and the guys at Legacy Valley actually build their own custom, bead-lock wheels for them.
