Taking It To The Pile
Indoor truck and tractor pulling from Kentucky, no-prep drag racing down in Texas, the Seventy 2 Fast competitor list drops, and S&S takes a look inside a battle-tested, race-proven DCR pump.
New Year, same winning ways. The Perkins Brothers kicked off 2026 by proving their second-gen Cummins remains all but unbeatable in the dirt. With Caden Perkins at the helm, the O’Bryant Diesel-powered Dodge swept the 3.0 Diesel Truck Class at the TNT Truck & Tractor Pull invitational in Lexington, Kentucky. During Friday’s qualifying session, Caden stormed through Alltech Arena and put more than a foot on Second Place. Saturday night, he once again moved the sled the furthest. This is the same common-rail Cummins that terrorized the Limited Pro Stock category in 2025, finishing Second in points in the Hot Shot’s Secret Pro Pulling League. Is a championship in the cards this year? So, far it looks like it could be.

Nathan Wheeler And Crazyhorse Go Rounds At Southern Street Warz

Everyone’s favorite Cummins-powered Ford went back to work over the weekend, this time at the no-prep Southern Street Warz event hosted by WesTX Abilene Raceway. Despite not being able to run the weight bar and the front-half of the track being anything but smooth (as well as a bumpy finish), Nathan Wheeler piloted Crazyhorse into the third round of action in the (Anything on) 28s category before being put on the trailer. Given the conditions, Nathan had to wait until mid-track to pour the power on—and boy howdy did Crazyhorse freight train the competition in his first two wins. As it turns out, while the truck was spinning, bouncing, and struggling to find traction in round 3, Nathan accidentally fat-fingered the trans-brake button, which kept the TH400 from shifting. Now on to Cleetus AWD vs. RWD race prep…
New Year, New Rules, New Partnerships

As part of a joint commitment to unite the diesel drag racing community, the Outlaw Diesel Super Series has taken its 5.70 Index class back to 5.90 for 2026—primarily in an effort to better align with the National Hot Rod Diesel Association’s rulebook. The change is part of a bigger overall picture that entails both organizations working together to help grow the sport. Look for the ODSS and NHRDA to team up on an East vs. West style, end-of-year showdown at some point. For now, take a look at what’s in store this year: the NHRDA season kicks off in Arizona on February 27th while the ODSS’s annual Rudy’s Spring Truck Jam commences the weekend of April 24-25th in Rockingham.
The List

It’s official: every competitor signed up for this summer’s $100,000 ($70K to the winner) Seventy 2 Fast race at the Ultimate Callout Challenge is listed on seventy2fast.com. For entertainment value, there is even a call out function for the first round of action. As for the list itself, you’ll find a host of familiar names, including Greg A., Shawn Baca, Derek Rose, David Petrick, and even Lavon Miller. You’ll also find a lot of ODSS regulars signed up to compete, with Brad Helton, Andy Hacker, Randell Dueck, Austin Denny, and Dan Zelten all looking to make things interesting. Is it June yet?!

Inside The Battle-Tested, Race-Proven DCR In Ryan Reiser’s 5-Second Power Stroke

As part of an off season health checkup performed on his 5-second ’12 Ford, S&S Diesel Motorsport’s Ryan Reiser took a peek inside the DCR pump that fuels his 6.7L Power Stroke. In short order, Ryan realized that the ultimate CP4 solution—the second-ever prototype DCR installed on a 6.7L—looked brand-new inside. After three years of abuse (while competing in the 6.70, 5.90, and 5.70 Index classes, no less), the cam looked perfect, the roller bushings were in great shape, the plunger feet showed zero signs of wear, and all sealing surfaces passed inspection with flying colors. The pump has been reassembled and given the go-ahead for another year of racing.
