How Much Fuel Do You Need To Make 3,825 HP?
Find out how much fuel it takes to make 3,800+ hp, Seventy 2 Fast racing comes to Texas, and fresh L5P/Allison dyno records.
In the aftermath of Tim Moore’s record-setting dyno performance at Ultimate Callout Challenge, the folks at S&S Diesel Motorsport did a little analyzing. And being that Tim was running a massive set of the company’s built-to-spec, Ordnance injectors, no one else had better info to share. So, what did it take to make 3,825 hp? Or rather, how much fuel was used, aside from the nitrous that was also on tap? How about 701mm3 per stroke (small beaker)! But don’t let that seemingly miniscule volume of fuel fool you… It’s being delivered every 1,350 microseconds. For the entirety of the dyno pull (roughly 3.5 seconds, and from 3,700 to 6,600 rpm…) an average of 5,200 rpm can be deduced—which means 910 injection events and the amount of fuel you see in the big beaker. Pro Stock Tractor Meets Hub Dyno

A Pro Stock pulling tractor bolted to a hub dyno? Yes please! It might be an oldie, but it’s definitely a goodie—and the video resurfaced on social media recently to the tune of thousands upon thousands of views. No, there aren’t any fireworks or carnage. Just a 680 cubic inch John Deere turning 6,000 rpm (and likely turning out 5,000-plus horsepower). And unlike all the chassis dyno action you’re used to seeing, the engine is forced to make a low-rpm to high-rpm sweep, with the run starting upstairs and the hub dyno dragging rpm down, as to simulate the weight transferring (and ultimately the pan dropping) on the sled.
Seventy 2 Fast Comes To Texas—Along With A $100,000 Payout

What could be better than watching some of the fastest spec turbo class diesels race deep into the night, and for $100,000 in guaranteed, cold, hard cash going to the winner? At present, there is no equal to this type and style of racing anywhere else in the diesel industry. As the creators, developers, and owners of the Seventy 2 Fast name, branding, and format, Firepunk Diesel aims to work with promoters to bring the Seventy 2 Fast racing format to the masses. And now, they’re bringing Seventy 2 Fast racing—and a $100,000 First Place payout—to Texas. In total, $141,000 will be on the line September 25th in Ennis, Texas at the NHRDA World Finals. There, 64 trucks will square off for a shot at glory, and (of course) another record-setting payout.
Pushing The Limits Of The 6.7L Power Stroke

Up in the Great White North, the folks at JDB Diesel Performance continue to push both the 6.7L Power Stroke platform and the 6R140 TorqShift to new heights. On a recent trip through the 1/8-mile, driver Jimmy Dallaire Beauchemin piloted this 2020 F-250 to a 5.65 at 139 mph. Despite a soft launch hurting the truck’s 60-foot and ‘330 times, Jimmy unleashed some serious power on the back half to earn that trap speed. In fact, according to Kill Devil Diesel—who supplied JDB with one of its Outlaw 6.7L engine packages—more than 2,200 hp was being applied to the track. Kill Devil’s race-ready 6.7L features its CNC ported, Delta series heads, steel piston rotating assembly (with Wagler rods, KDD billet main caps and girdle), and benefits from S&S fueling, a MoTeC stand-alone ECU, and a 94mm G55 turbo.
Highest Horsepower 10-Speed Allison

Meet the highest horsepower 10-speed Allison equipped Silverado HD in the world. The ’23 LTZ trim Silverado belongs to Josh Moore and it cleared an incredible 1,314-rwhp on the Blessed Performance chassis dyno. Built at Full Throttle Diesel, Josh’s late-model Chevrolet HD sports a set of compound turbos (made possible by John C Garage) that consists of a Smeding Diesel S480 feeding the factory VGT, 200-percent over Exergy Performance injectors that are (surprisingly) supported by a single, 10mm Exergy CP3, a FASS 220-gph low-pressure system, and All In Truck Performance tuning. As for the 10L1000 Allison recipe? That’s classified for now, but we’re told the 10-speed automatic was built by NC Diesel Motorsports and benefits from a Goerend Transmission torque converter and a valve body from DHD.
710-RWHP: A New Stock Fuel L5P Duramax Record

From the most powerful 10-speed equipped L5P Duramax to the highest horsepower Gen 2 L5P on stock fuel, we bring you this nasty tow-rig from RUN VSE. Thanks to the company’s S488 over stock compound turbo system, the big, dual rear wheel ’24 GMC laid down 710 hp and 1,343 lb-ft of torque on the Blessed Performance chassis dyno. With the amount of air the compounds provide, the factory fuel system (Denso HP4 and solenoid style injectors) can be maxed out via tuning without fear of EGT skyrocketing, or boost or drive pressure getting out of hand. And who knows, in single rear wheel trim this combination might even be good for 740 to 750 hp at the wheels…
