HEADLINES: Another H.O. ’23 Powerstroke With Big Dyno Numbers

465 hp and 1,185 lb-ft from a bone-stock Super Duty? Plus, a diesel Jr. dragster, a familiar Pro Street Dodge, and a 30-year old truck on sale for $70,000.

2023 6.7L Powerstroke High Output Ford Super Duty F-350

Impressive dyno figures continue to surface as more and more aftermarket companies (and truck owners) strap their high output 2023 Super Duty’s to the rollers. If you recall, Ford now offers a 500 hp, 1,200 lb-ft version of the 6.7L Powerstroke—and it’s in ultra-high demand. Recent dyno testing at DuramaxTuner.com revealed that its ’23 test mule sends 465 hp and an incredible 1,185 lb-ft to the rear wheels. To be sure, this doesn’t mean you’ll have a low 14-second hot-rod right off the showroom floor, as Ford definitely plays the torque management game in lower transmission gears (in order to maintain traction). However, without question, these huge horsepower and torque figures mean that Ford offers the most powerful factory diesel truck ever built.

Drag Racing

A New Diesel Dragster Hits The Scene…

Diesel Jr Dragster Yanmar Engine Drag Racing

…and it’s not exactly what you think. In fact, in many ways it’s better. This slick Jr. dragster will hit the ODSS circuit in 2024 with Pro Street Champion Justin Zeigler’s son behind the wheel. The mini rail is reportedly powered by a Yanmar diesel and, thanks to help from Jeremy Wagler, Ryan Milliken, Rick Haynes, and Rod MacMaster, is ready for the track. This is how you keep diesel drag racing alive for future generations. Hopefully it sparks a new trend for the sport, where a field of Jr. dragsters compete for a championship.

Race Season Prep Underway At Maverick Diesel

Maverick Diesel Second Gen Dodge Cummins Pro Street Drag Racing

A few upgrades, followed by winter testing, are in store for the Pro Street common-rail campaigned by Maverick Diesel. A new wrap from Southern Custom Wraps freshens up the second-gen’s look, fiberglass doors and a new windshield help shed some weight, and now all that’s left to do is strap Paul Cato in behind the wheel. Who else is ready to see what one of the hardest-launching four-wheel drive trucks in diesel drag racing has to offer this year?! For anyone unaware, the ODSS calendar kicks off on April 5 at Orlando Speed World.

Used Trucks

$70K For An OBS Ford?

1994 Ford F-350 Powerstroke Diesel Truck

Is it further proof that the used diesel market continues to burn red hot, or is it the fact that OBS Ford fans are willing to pay crazy prices for immaculate versions of their favorite trucks? This four-wheel drive-converted F-350 dually is listed for $69,500 on King of Cars & Trucks and one thing is for sure—someone will pay it. Flawless inside and out, the rare 4×4 dually packs a 7.3L Powerstroke with an insanely low, 16,000 miles on the clock. It’s also fitted with the ZF-5 manual transmission, effectively making the black, standard cab, XLT trim, DRW the ultimate “man truck.”

Wind Turbine Installation Gone Wrong

Wind Turbine Crane Accident Steiger Farm Tractor

It’s an oldie but a goodie that occurred over three years ago, but it illustrates what is sometimes a scary reality on a wind turbine installation. From time to time, the massive cranes employed to erect them fall over. And, be it due to a lack of ground matts, soft ground giving way, operator error or even excessive wind, these behemoths crash more often than you think. Just make sure you watch from a distance the next time you see one going up in your rural neck of the woods. The unbelievable (and 100-percent real) image was brought to our attention courtesy of Facebook’s steiger tractor group.
