Wehrli Custom Fabrication might be the go-to place for late-model Duramax and Cummins parts, but its roots are deeply based in one-off fabrication. After spending a little time with this immaculate, ’91 Dodge, WCFab made it possible for the owner to run a front-mount air-to-air intercooler (remember, first-gens weren’t intercooled from the factory until ’91.5) and a Calibrated Power Solutions third-gen Stealth STR turbo with a second-gen style manifold. WCFab built the necessary piping to make everything work and then powder coated the finished product Sparkle Sky Blue, complete with Chartreuse Sherbert accents.

Dodge Cummins Third Gen Diesel Drag Race Truck

Who wants to go fast? Yet another rear-wheel drive 5.90 Index truck is for sale, this one belonging to Will Cunningham (and formerly David Large). The vibrant red third-gen, which won the ODSS 5.90 championship in 2021, is being sold in race-ready condition. This includes a Freedom Racing Engines’ 6.8L Cummins, a Stainless Diesel S485 Godfather turbo with a Stainless exhaust manifold and dual wastegates, extra nitrous bottles, a Rossler TH400 with Sun Coast bolt-together converter, and brand-new Hoosier slicks. Come up with $68,500 and you’re in the driver seat.

A 6.7L Power Stroke Being Built To Run Mid 8’s

Finally, someone is getting serious about building a serious 6.7L Power Stroke. That somebody is Wayne Yates from Stroke Works Diesel Specialties. A man once notorious for getting booted off the track for going too fast, Wayne has decided to play by the rules this time and build a truck with a roll cage. His standard cab Super Duty will be certified to run as quick at 8.50 in the quarter-mile, and Wayne plans to stick with the 6R140 TorqShift transmission, at least for now. Major props to Wayne for pushing what many believe to be a stout and worthwhile Ford platform to its outer limits.

Cummins Launches The Next Generation X15

Cummins X15 Next Generation Diesel Engine

In order to meet 2027 U.S. EPA and CARB emissions regulations, Cummins will launch its most efficient diesel engine ever. The global engine manufacturer’s next generation X15 will be built on Cummins’ HELM (Higher Efficiency, Lower Emissions, Multiple Fuels) fuel agnostic 15-liter engine platform, a program where shared engine architecture is on the table but with either diesel or natural gas used as fuel. The X15 design employs a belt-driven, high output 48-volt alternator and aftertreatment heater solution, which is optimized for meeting increasingly stringent emission standards. The new X15 will also be capable of running on biodiesel blends as high as 20-percent and renewable diesel blends up to 100-percent.
