The King Of All 4×4 Diesel Trucks Just Hit The Market
Multiple Duramax records set, dragster testing from Wagler Motorsports Park, and the fastest 4×4 diesel truck in existence goes up for sale.

We can’t believe it either, but DNR Customs’ Derek Rose has decided to sell his record-holding third-gen Cummins. The world’s quickest and fastest four-wheel drive diesel truck in the eighth-mile, it’s been 4.41 at 173 mph, and it also once covered the first 60-feet of the track in 1.16 seconds. With an aluminum engine in the mix, it tipped the scales at 3,950 pounds (with driver) and, although it isn’t being sold with a power plant under the front clip, all the supporting components to replicate its 4.40s are still in place. This includes custom 9-inch axles front and rear, a Rossler TH400 and SCS transfer case, a freshly certified SFI 25.6 cage, and much much more. Derek’s asking price is an absolute steal at $75,000.

New L5P Duramax Records

Southwest L5P Duramax owners were busy setting records this weekend, with three new high marks being generated. In Dallas, Darrin McDowell’s ’18 Silverado ran a 7.22-second eighth-mile on stock injectors, a factory HP4 high-pressure fuel pump, and the OEM lift pump. His regular cab Bow Tie makes use of a single S472 and UDT tuning (with the factory 4,000-rpm limiter removed). Up in Amarillo, another UDT-tuned L5P, this one owned by Corey Davis, ran a 12.61-second quarter-mile on stock fuel and a factory 10L1000 Allison—and at a hefty 7,800 pounds. Corey’s ’20 Silverado 2500 HD packs a stock VGT/billet S480 compound arrangement. Over in New Mexico, Mikie Carrasco’s full weight (with A/C), 1,400 hp GM (shown above) grabbed the overall L5P Duramax record with an impressive 10.28-second quarter-mile at 134 mph.
Testing And Tuning At Wagler’s

The folks at Wagler Competition Products are wasting zero time preparing for the 2025 race season. Testing commenced at Wagler Motorsports Park this past Saturday, with Jayle Wagler brushing up on her staging and launching technique behind the wheel of the lightweight, Duramax-powered rail that blasted onto the 5.90 Index seen last year. Despite the dragster’s transmission not wanting to play nice, test hits were limited to the first 60 feet of track, so expect her to cut some wicked fast lights this summer. Jayle won the first ODSS race she ever competed in, the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza, and also finished in the top 10 in points in 2024.

Shred Tires, Win Money

A big money burnout contest is coming to Rudy’s Spring Truck Jam 2025. We’ll note that a burnout test-and-tune will be held for competitors on Friday at 2 pm. In addition to the eighth-mile action coming courtesy of the ODSS season opener, Friday night’s radial tire race, a massive show ‘n shine, a chassis dyno on site, and an expansive manufacturer’s midway, the burnout competition will serve to bring even more fans to Rockingham Dragway the first weekend in May. If you’re headed to Rudy’s, tickets can be ordered ahead of time here.
