Deep 6’s! Yet Another L5P Duramax/Allison Record
It’s another record for the L5P Duramax platform and two cutting-edge 6.7L Power Strokes are headed to June’s $100,000 drag race in Indy.
Another late-model Duramax just reset the record for the quickest and fastest L5P/Allison combination. On Friday night, PJ Page’s crew cab GMC Sierra went 6.43 at 111 mph in the 1/8-mile, then coasted to an 11.0 quarter. The feat through the ‘660 tops former record holder, Mikie Carrasco’s 6.51-second 1/8-mile and, judging by the truck’s weight and exceptional trap speed, PJ’s GMC is applying somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,500 hp to the track. PJ’s combination is a product of Above All Diesel, who built the tough-as-nails six-speed Allison, and everything is dialed in electronically thanks to the tuning pros at All In Truck Performance.
Cutting-Edge Power Strokes
Spencer Prichard’s Single Turbo, Single CP3 6.7L Ford

Without question, the 6.7L Power Stroke has a boatload of performance potential—and something tells us the Ford V-8 in Spencer Prichard’s Super Duty has only begun to scratch the surface of what this engine platform is capable of. Despite running only a single turbo and a single CP3, Spencer squeezes 5.9x-second 1/8-miles out of this index racing beast. Thanks to SPE Motorsport’s killer engine program—which includes CNC ported heads and a CP3 conversion—and an Alpha 550 from Exergy Performance, Spencer is proving that less is more with this lightweight, extremely efficient package. Having finished sixth in ODSS points last season, look for him to make a run at the 5.90 Index crown this year.
A 6.7L (PSD) Swapped “72 Fast” Super Duty

Charlie Fish and the folks at KC Turbos have cooked up something very special for the $100,000 Seventy 2 Fast race in June. Once powered by a 1,500-plus hp 6.0L, the company’s short bed converted, ’05 Super Duty coined ”Lucky” has been graced with a 6.7L Power Stroke. But not just any 6.7L Power Stroke. It’s an engine that was built with love—and some of the finest parts in the industry—at Kill Devil Diesel. With the truck firing up for the first time last week, it’s now headed for the chassis dyno. As for what it makes on the rollers, that’s anyone’s guess, but we suspect it will be in the 1,300 hp range. If that happens, you’ll probably find Lucky competing in the 5.90 Index category as well.

It’s Going To Be A Busy Summer For WC Fab’s 2WD Drag-n-Drive Duramax

With racetracks opening up across the country, Wehrli Custom Fabrication will soon be turning its drag truck loose out in the wild again. In 2025, the company’s compound turbo’d, LB7-powered ’01 Silverado took part in SICK Summer, SICK Michigan Miles, and made it to a host of other events, including Ultimate Callout Challenge and the Byron Diesel Drags. Now the crew at WC Fab is piecing together a summer schedule for their drag-n-drive Duramax, and you can bet they’re looking to improve on the truck’s best passes to date (6.72 at 106 mph in the 1/8-mile, and 10.34 at 132 mph through the quarter).
