Stealing The Show (And Everyone Else’s Money) At The Dyno Day

A Duramax sweeps the dyno day, diesel drag racing in Tulsa, and the latest technological breakthrough for the 7.3L Power Stroke.

Duramax Diesel Dyno Day Chevy Silverado Highest Horsepower

When Dmitri Millard steals Kodi Koch’s fire-breathing Duramax and then proceeds to steal everyone’s money at the local dyno day… The master Allison builder and longtime Duramax guru made an appearance at the Quality Diesel Performance dyno competition and show ‘n shine on Saturday—and the UCC-tested Silverado he brought with him took top honors in the S&S-sponsored highest horsepower category, the highest horsepower Chevy (Dynomite Diesel Products) class, and the highest horsepower on nitrous category. Dmitri’s biggest N2O hit yielded 1,975 hp and 2,528 lb-ft, but the truck also cleared 1,890 hp and 2,406 lb-ft on fuel. As for Kodi, he was out sick. So no grand theft auto was in play…

Taking A Look Inside A Billet Sigma Pump

Triple Turbo Billet Block Cummins Super Stock 4x4 Diesel Truck Dodge Ram 2500

Some pretty high-tech stuff is going on with O-Line, the triple-turbo Super Stock diesel truck pulling joint-effort between WP Developments and Indianapolis Colts Offensive Lineman, Dalton Tucker—and it goes far beyond all the shiny “billet.” Check out the number 1 injection line above the valve cover… It’s a 1000hz fuel rail sensor, and they hope to use it to gather data on the 18mm Fair Valley Performance Sigma pump—specifically pump pressure and pulse width. The folks at WP know that data is king, and this is the kind of curiosity that will not only help compare high-dollar mechanical injection to high-pressure common-rail systems but also move the industry forward.

At The Track

The NHRDA Rolls Through Tulsa

6.7L Cummins Diesel Ram 2500 Dyno Horsepower Stainless Vgt Turbo 68rfe Transmission

The second race on the 2026 NHRDA schedule brought racers and fans to Tulsa Raceway Park over the weekend, and despite having to roll with Mother Nature’s punches the event was a huge success. Straightline Automotive’s Douglas Bull was on hand in Tulsa with his fourth-gen Cummins. On the Blessed Performance mobile chassis dyno, his 68RFE-equipped 6.7L laid down a solid 587 hp on fuel, followed it with 1,160 hp on nitrous and then took his chances in the Average Joe Blue Collar no-prep race. On the prepped portion of the track, last year’s ODSS 6.70 Index champion, Jeremy Stickney, dominated and left Oklahoma a winner, Keith Languell (another ODSS regular) came out on top in 7.70 Index (Super Diesel), and Ryan Harmon stole the show in ET Bracket (Sportsman).

MTKB Racing’s Rowdy VW Build

Tdi VW 1.9l Jetta Alh Drag Slicks Diesel Race Car Sedan

You’ve likely never seen a 1.9L TDI quite like the one in Kyler Broviak’s Jetta. A busy offseason led to a complete teardown and competition rebuild for the little VW. The project, undertaken by Kyler and his father, MTKB Racing’s Mark Broviak, entailed a full engine build, JAM Injection 320 injectors, and a Garrett GTB2260vk turbo. But that’s not all. A DSG automatic was mated to the reborn ALH power plant, complete with launch control. Now, thanks to Tekmektronics tuning, a helping hand from Euro Auto Repair and Maddog Machine, and support from Hot Shot’s Secret, Kyler has a TDI Jetta that turns 6,000 rpm and clicks off 7-second 1/8-miles. Look for Kyler and his wild creation in the staging lanes for 7.70 Index and ET Bracket at the Ultimate Callout Challenge/Outlaw Diesel Revenge event.
