Winning At All Costs: An L5P Duramax Explodes But Also Takes Home The Payout

Carnage on the dyno, another Cummins Killer III win in the dirt, and a new land speed record in Bonneville.

First-year diesel events can be tough to pull off. Luckily, Stack’d Diesel Specialists’ Cody Scronce lacks nothing in the way of ambition and was determined to bring his local community of Paducah, Kentucky together for a weekend full of diesel festivities. 1/8-mile fun runs, a show ‘n shine, and a dyno competition were all on tap for the inaugural Boosted Blackout. Aboard the CAM Performance mobile chassis dyno, All In Truck Performance stole the show—in more ways than one. After AITP reacquired the crew cab GMC shown here (which is cordially named “Harry”), company friend Michael Carrasco hauled it up from Texas with goals of both pushing the stock bottom end L5P to the brink and bringing back the $2,000 payout offered up by Luke’s Diesel Repair. At 1,383 hp and 1,779 lb-ft of torque (as well as 4,300 rpm) the L5P’s factory bottom end let loose (video here), and the effort was more than enough to earn them the big payout.

More From The Boosted Blackout

Boosted Blackout sponsor Luke’s Diesel Repair also made some noise on the dyno, with the company’s own L5P Duramax making a nitrous assisted 928 hp for Second Place on the rollers. Next in line, Michael Robbins’ 6.7L Cummins cleared an impressive 855 hp on fuel, and AJ Pasko’s 6.0L Power Stroke turned out 800 hp on spray. In the show ‘n shine, David Letcher took top honors with his stunning LML Duramax (shown). And as for the long-distance award, AMDP Custom Tuning of Canada made their first ever U.S.-based appearance at an event, and thanks to what they saw at Boosted Blackout they plan to grow their event presence in the states.

Super Stock Trucks Visit The Hawkeye State

Cummins Killer III Duramax Diesel Truck Pulling GMC Sierra Super Stock 4x4

It was a successful trip to the NTPA Grand National North Iowa Nationals in Rockwell, Iowa for both Todd Dugan and Craig Dickey. Thursday night, not only did Dugan drive his “Angry Farmer” Ford to a 382.51-foot, First Place finish, but he also put the “Angry Shine” Chevy in the runner-up spot. Saturday, it was Dickey’s turn behind the wheel of Cummins Killer III. The late-model GMC with the mechanically injected, Duramax-based V-8 put 15-feet on the rest of the field for the big win (and we’ll note that Todd Dugan’s Angry Farmer wound up in second). Next up: the Hillsboro Charity Tractor Pull in Wisconsin this Friday. After that, it’s on to Pulltown USA, where we saw the largest group of Super Stock diesel trucks ever assembled in 2025.

History In Bonneville: The Fastest Diesel Streamliner In The World

Cummins Land Speed Streamliner Thunder In The Morning

Team Salty Box Racing’s Cummins-powered streamliner has been a force at Bonneville Speedway for years, and last week they broke their own record while setting a new world record qualifier. The planet’s fastest diesel streamliner, driven by Ryan Boyle, has now raised the C/DS bar to 328.285 mph. Just two short years ago, they broke the 315-mph barrier. Now, they continue to bury their previous best(s). The S&S fueled streamliner (i.e. “Thunder In The Morning”) benefits from MoTeC control and careful fine-tuning from Hardway Performance, and also packs a 48RE from Randy’s Transmissions. Thankfully, our friends at Hot Shot’s Secret were along for the ride in Bonneville, providing timely coverage of the record-setting efforts from Salty Box Racing.

Ford 6.7L Fuel Leak Prevention Kit

S&S Diesel Motorsport Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Fuel Leak Prevention Kit

S&S Diesel Motorsport’s new Ford 6.7L Fuel Leak Prevention Kit was design to solve two highly common failure points on your late-model Power Stroke. Not only does it replace the plastic secondary factory fuel filter housing with a billet-aluminum replacement, but it also replaces the brittle plastic OEM injector return fitting with an aluminum version. And, in true over-engineered S&S fashion, the kit features a filter with 4-micron absolute filtration at 99-percent efficiency and boasts nearly twice the OEM unit’s dirt-holding capacity. Better yet, the system seamlessly integrates with the company’s 6.7L Disaster Prevention Kit, its DCR Pump Conversion, and the factory fuel system.
